Children’s Choir Rehersal

Sunday October 28, 2018 4:45 PM to 6:00 PM

Children K-5 and Grade 6 are welcome to join us for Children’s Choir Practice

WHY? For the Glory of God and the spiritual edification of our children. The children will hide God’s Word in their hearts, learn to sing well and serve the church as they offer their sacrifices of praise.  In doing so, they will be discipled by those who lead.

  • Who? Since our church is small, we hope for children between 5 and 12 years of age. The older children will be expected to help teach the younger ones. Parents of non-readers will be expected to work on words at home. Neighbors and friends would be welcomed to participate.
  • When? Sundays at 4:45 to 5:40 p.m. We will be prepared to handle children whose parents are in adult choir at 4:30.
  • Who leads the choir? Sheryl Farquhar will choose and direct music. Beverly Brouwer will accompany and Lynn Tate will assist and play the flute. Mary and Thomas McKay will also assist. It’s a great group!
  • What will the choir sing? Music will be carefully chosen to give the children an understanding of: Who we worship, why we worship and how we worship. Children will learn to read music as they grow in their participation. The music will also teach scripture and doctrine all in the context participating in worship.

When will the choir sing? The goal is an “offering” once a month during the school year. This will include evening worship, morning worship and perhaps visiting nursing homes, shut-ins, and other opportunities that arise.
